I installed MJ8 beta, pointed it at my music, and left it to import it into the database.  I came back and MJB had caused an access violation.  I have included the details with this message.  

note EIP is not a valid memory address at time of the exception.

Probably not a bug.  You might try a reboot after installing.

Did you ever install the full version from the downloads page.  You must install it first, then update from the thread here.

In MJ, please do Help/System Info and paste it here.

maybe if the update version checked on install if all the files from the full version were on the system and if not tell the user what to do, or direct them to the html for the full version.

True.  But here's what we say in the thread on each build now:

It's a temporary state, just because we don't want to put the absolute latest on the downloads page.  I'm sure there are people here who would understand our reasoning.

This should change when we go to RC this week.

me and my wife went for a walk tonight to the bridge about 1 mile from our house and it has been closed for 2 months. there is big signs "Bridge Closed" but people sill drive 4 blocks past the signs and then find out the bridge is closed.

Definitely is a bug.  I can reproduce it 100% on multiple computers using the same collection.
Will give you the system info when I get home.

It's almost for sure one certain file that's tripping MJ up.

If you could figure out which file (by doing small batches at a time) and email it to matt@jriver.com, we'd be very grateful.

Do you run antivirus AVG,or do you have the windows pinball game ?

If yes one of the AVG sound will crash MJ when importing
The same for pinball 2 music
