Media Center 16 plays only one track on remote DLNA device
« on: November 30, 2011, 09:28:09 am »

Hi all,

Currently I am evaluating Media Centter 16.0.181 and I notice that it is missing a basic feature, at least in my case. When I send a playlist to the SONY BDV880 player via DLNA (send to (play shuffled)... ), it will only play one song from the playlist and afterwards it stops.
I am sure there are several tracks to play, as I see "playing track 4 from 13" for example when I go the the .
I know this is a Media Center issue as using Windows media player server I have no issues like this, hence the problem is not at Sony side.

Can anyone help? I like this softwarem it seems complex, it cannot be that such a feature is problematic. Can it be a trial version limitation? As far as I could see, the only limitation was in time (30 days trial period).

Thanks,
Dan

Welcome to the forum.  Try some of the DLNA server settings in MC.  Take a  look at some other threads on this board.

Hi Jim and thanks for your swift reply.

I have been looking into all of the options, but could not find anything. It is really basic, it's like having "Stop after each item" active, but I certainly do not have it marked...

I found some related post like "Playlist stops playing when I am streaming to a DLNA-devic,e"  but nothing really helpful. Can it be something on the way the MC interacts with Sony BDV880?

This is quite unfortunate, I cannot really use the MC due to this issue.

Thanks,
Dan

Try "DLNA Extra", for example.

Try updating the device's firmware.

Thanks, seems to be working with DLNA extra option enabled.

Would never have found it myself.
