From song and film,
and blood and dust,
Beyond my prime,
Sadly, confess I must.
Time and more have passed me by,
it was my fate,
And I've earned my fame,
in the forty-eight.
My fans, my fans! still cherish,
hark! a renaissance, my revival,
My road surrenders its troubled life,
an alliterative, along arrival.
There were Firsts and Honors,
throughout my life,
A national treasure,
without a Fife.
And though my path hath changed,
oh... once or twice,
I've served the nation,
bonny well, even thrice.
My journey ends in L.A.,
and so, here we are,
A sign, a post, rest easy,
would that I stay?
Who Am I ?
