Trying to Burn and Getting 8.3 error message

Can anyone tell me why when i try to burn a CD with MJ 8 it give me the message that the filenames are not correct 8.3 filenames and that i need to recopy them and re-import them into MJ.........its very selective with the files it does this to but it does it to the majority of my files....please help!!!!

You must be using NT, Win2k or WinXP...right?

Sometimes these OSes create files without an 8.3 filename to go with their long filename (> 8.3).  A DOS Dir command on the files (with some command-line option...I forget which one...maybe -x) will reveal which files do NOT have an 8.3 filename.  Try copying them to another place, deleting the originals and copying/moving the new files back and see if that creates the 8.3 filenames.

yeah im using XP but i dont understand what your saying......just copy the files somewhere else and then copy them back and re-import them??
