mc17.exe > "Failed to load JRTools"
« on: May 19, 2012, 10:24:52 am »

In the past few days (possibly when I upgraded to .155) the command line mc17 does not work any more. I get a popup that reports "Failed to load JRTools". MC17.exe is in the System32 directory and my path looks ok. I have reinstalled MC17 with no luck. It of course used to work fine.

Environment is:
Win7 x86
MC17 .155
I install in portable mode.
JRTools.dll is in the MC install directory (I don't install in Program Files in case that matters).

Any ideas?

I had the same problem.
I have an autoit script that launches mc17 using the command Run ("MC17.exe /mcc 22001,3", "")

However, for reasons I don't exactly recall, the script is launching a different copy of mc17.exe than the one in c:\windows\system32.
I copied over the one from c:\windows\system32 and it worked fine.

So I suspect the problems is that like me, you are running an older version of mc17.exe. Launch the one from c:\windows\system32 and that might fix it.
