Can't open file on client with gizmo: error hr=0x80004005

So I have no issues opening files with my IR remote control, but if I try to play to a file using Gizmo, I get "Failed to find or open file. (hr=0x80004005)". I'm using a server/client setup, and I noticed this only happens when I try to play a file on a client. It works fine on the server. Any ideas?

Gizmo or WebGizmo?

What type of file?  What are you playing it on?

This is on Gizmo from a Galaxy Nexus running 4.1. I just noticed that it works fine through WebGizmo. These are mkv videos that I'm trying to play on multiple Windows 7 machines running Media Center 17.0.182. I experience the same error on all of the machines. Music files (mp3s, aac's, etc) don't work either. I just get a "something went wrong with playback" message.

I also tried reinstalling Gizmo and re-entering credentials with no success

and Gizmo is not working on Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.1 when *served from* "multiple Windows 7 machines"
(because Flash is not working on Android 4.1).

A sticky thread with a step by step description for users of Android 4.1 where Flash playback fails would be handy...

Gizmo will use MP4 for video playback with Media Center 18.  It will work better than ever, especially on 4.1 and newer devices.

Early previews of MC18 will be available in a few weeks.

Sorry for the confusion. I am trying to use Gizmo on my Galaxy Nexus as a remote to start playback on my Windows 7 machines. So in gizmo, under "choose where to play" I have one of my Windows 7 machines selected. I have installed flash manually on my Galaxy Nexus 4.1 and playback on the Galaxy Nexus works fine. Playback on my Windows 7 machines is also fine if I use my keyboard or my harmony remote. The only problem is when I try to use Gizmo on my Galaxy Nexus to start playback on my Windows 7 machines.

So you're using Gizmo on the Nexus as a DLNA Controller to start playback on the PC.  That should work without problems.  I wonder if you're connecting to a Microsoft DLNA renderer.

That's correct. I don't know what you mean by your last sentence though. How can I check?

Windows runs UPnP software.  It can be turned off.  Windows Media Sharing?   You could google for more information.
