Shuttle Flyover - good stuff
« on: September 21, 2012, 12:42:51 pm »

From my front porch, I just watched the space shuttle Endeavor do a low-pass flyover of the S.F. Bay on approach to NASA - Ames a couple of miles south. Very cool.

Two snaps late in the flyover (stupid camera operator let the camera go to sleep, and was too busy watching with binoculars to notice).

Those are still nice pics! I bet it looked great through bino's.
I saw the one and only landing at White Sands, NM. It was very cool...

I just saw the fly by over LAX. My plane came in and we had permission to sit on the runway for an extra couple of minutes so the passengers could see the fly by. It was close, and only about 400 ft off the ground. Glad I was on the correct side of the airplane.

I am just wondering if this is the end to most of if not all of NASA's manned missions.

I think we have learned a lot about space in my lifetime, but what else is out there.

I wish we continued research.

I agree.  It's sad to see it end.
