Settings Intel Graphics Control Panel and MC 17
« on: September 24, 2012, 03:11:51 pm »

What is the best/recommended settings in the Settings Intel Graphics Control Panel?

- Display: Which refresh rate should be used? 23p Hz, 24p, 50i, 50p, 59i, 59p, 60i, 60p?
- Media/Color and Image Enhancement: Do you have all settings at Application Settings (i.e. disabled)?
- Media/Image Enhancement: What about Film Mode detection? As I understand this converts RGB to YCbCr which is unnecessary?

I have enabled Automatic Display Settings changing in MC 17/Options/video. I have also left Film (23.976), Film (24), NTSC (29.97/59.94) and PAL (25/50) at Desktop Settings. Is that correct?

System: I7 3770S (graphics driver v .2761) with MC 17 (Red October HQ) => AVR => LCD TV (in PAL country)

Thanks!

I use Intel HD4000 with the latest drivers. I just set it to 60P which is what my projector is capable of. I use Red October HQ.
Media center seems to take care of the rest with automatic display setting unless I am missing something.

From what I had figured out (which may not necessarily be the best settings) ...

In MC, if your TV supports it, you should set each mode refresh rate to the nearest number minus the fractals. So 23.976 becomes 23Hz, 29.97/59.94 is set to 59Hz. This will minimize frame drops.

In the Intel control panel I had enhancements and film detection disabled. I didn't want it to do anything and let MC control it.

In MadVR options make sure display is set to limited, 16-254.
