sorting question
« on: November 25, 2012, 03:02:26 pm »

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this and I find that I really like it.

Question:

If I want to sort my albums, but I don't have the Sort Album tagged in every case how do I do this.

For instance:

For the Album "The Dark Side Of The Moon" I've tagged the Sort Album as "Dark Side Of The Moon" so that it will end up filed alphabetically under letter "D" but then there's the album "Revolver" for which I have not added a Sort Album tag.  How do set a rule so that it when sorting albums it will search for the Sort Album tag and over-ride whatever is in the Album Field, but for those which do not have a Sort Album tag, it will simply use the normal Album Field instead?

Thanks

Here's an explanation of how to do it:

but for a different field.  Same concept applies.

Probably best to post independent questions in a new thread, or they'll end up getting lost.

Check out the Cover Art wiki article.

If you are only removing the, a, an.. don't forget tools->options->tree & view->sorting->Ignore articles (a, an, the).
