I just installed the latest gizmo on my phone. Decided to try connecting by ip address instead of access code and it works fine if I use the actual ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:52199. I then decided to try the dynamic dns address I use ****.dynalias.com:52199 the problem I ran into was I ran out of room to type in my full domain name. I got up to ******.dynalias.com:52 then couldn't type anymore. Will this work with a dynamic ip service and could you allowing entering more characters into the field?

Sorry, but only an Access Key or IP address is supported at the current time.

sounds like a good idea as I use DynDNS as well.

How does it currently work?
JRiver's servers much have a record of your IP address, how often is that updated?
Surely properly designed, you need neither the IP address or URL?

Ouch. I just installed the trial. I didn't think of DynDNS not working.

An alternative you can use webGizmo. It works fine with dynamic dns.

Not tried "dyndnsdomainname:port" on Gizmo, but works fine from the PC.

IP connection is not a problem, but the Gizmo Android app allows no dyndns.

If you have a dynamic IP address, please use an Access Key.

Dynamic IP addresses are one of the reasons we created the Access Key system.

I already understood that, but unfortunately an access from outside via the mobile network does not works.
Yes the port is forwarded through the router, and Web Gizmo works too. Why can you can not type directly http://dyndns.org etc in the Gizmo app?
This would solve the problem immediately, and you could hear music from home on the road with Gizmo.

I use a dynamicDns for web gizmo. And a access key for gizmo. It works great.
I'm not sure why that would not work and web gizmo would.

The access key method through Gizmo is a perfect match for me. I use it at work on the road and around the house works perfectly.

Access key does indeed work well, but if you wanted to use a different port on your router, then this is not possible. Worth noting.

Yes, using your own IP and port works, but then JRiver servers do not pick up the new IP and port for the access key in my experience.

In my experience it works fine.
I use a static ip for my local PC server.
On my router I setup port forward to that ip using a custom port

I use the access key for all gizmos and MC.
2 nexus 4
1 nexus 7
1 google TV
1 MC client running at work

For all webgizmo access is use my dyn address.

What i don't know is what happen when the ISP ip address changes.
I don't think mine changes that much

There is definately no problem if your ISP ip changes, that is the purpose of the access key, to handle that event.
Mine used to be quite static, but with some changes at the exchange equipment mine is now quite dynamic.

However the access key approach does not work for me if the open port on the router is NOT the default for JRiver (52199 I think from memory)
