I'm in a trial with j river mc 18. I am completely satisfied as a music player, but i have problem with videos.
Video playback show very noticeable stuttering. I'm not sure how to explain it, it is not like frame drop, it is like some horizontal separations that makes top and bottom sections somewhat misaligned. It feels like i can see top down scanning ,and since it is rendered too slow, it gets misaligned during moving parts. It is particularly visible during panning scenes (ex: opening scene of Brave) or fade in/out scenes. It occurs with different source videos, be it 480, 720, 1080p. So it doesn't seems to be a lack of gpu power, but maybe a refresh rate problem, but i'm no expert.
I'm using red october standard. All default video settings. Audio bitstream = yes via hdmi. CPU is an i3 2100 using onboard graphics.
My desktop intel's refresh rate is 59hz. Source videos are 23.98fps. I tried playing with the automatic refresh rate change in MC, to make it match the source fps, but it make it worst, the top to bottom scanning is even slower.
Here is MC benchmark results:

Note that playback using XBMC or Media Browser is perfectly smooth, no problem with those players.
Note also that I can see the same stuttering in Media Player Classic, and also on the web streaming videos. I may be going crazy but I could swear there was no stuttering before installing MC...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
