"It Never Entered My Mind" - Miles Davis Workin' - 1962: dinner in a cluttered student apartment with a woman who looked a lot like Mai Britt (remember her?). Lots of cheap red wine (all we could afford, and besides, who knew anything about wine back then). Miles playing in the background with that great band: Philly Joe, Red Garland, Chambers, Coltrane. Easy conversation - just two people comfortable with one another. An evening that makes everything else worthwhile.

Shortly after that, she reluctantly went out with a guy she had no interest in. Was thrown from the back of his motorcycle in traffic, never regained consciousness. Sad. Can't listen to that track without going back to that evening.

Circa 1978: my girlfriend had gone off to Washington State as a music major. On a visit back to Southern California, she told me that she had been assigned to write a research paper on the use of keyboards in rock music, and since she didn't listen to rock, she was hoping that I could provide some examples of rock & roll songs that contained particularly creative or skilled keyboard work. I frantically went through my entire record collection, but that song by Mott the Hoople was the best example of keyboards in rock that I could find in my collection at the time. Good thing she wasn't looking for examples of the use of brass (instruments) . . .

Speaking of spring...

My son came in a few minutes ago to ask me for some thistle seed. 'Why', I asked?

'Because I was standing under the bird feeder with my hands out and a bird landed on my fingers', he replied. Gave the boy some seed and off he goes to stand under the feeder again. The chickadee has to be the most fearless, or stupid, bird in the world. I'd like to think it is fearless. Watching out the window, the birds came back to investigate his offering. No takers this time. May have been a lack of patience on his part. Or just enough common sense in that little fluff of feathers to avoid such a creature. I really like spring.

Yes,i think they may.I have 17 bands from your list.Knowing that i do not like pop,it means a large part of the rock ones.We are at least 2 to have a Cinerama album.If we speak about the same band.The one i have is a punkogrungeo noiso band
If you like "band with a large spiff" try Blueground Undergrass.You can get concerts on not so good sound mp3 from they site.

I don't think this month would be a good idea since i have not had this one but 2 weeks, but i am more thinking may-jun, it looks like a may get a bonus then so that should pay for it.

Well i am figuring i will not make my goal of 129,000 with the current 500|PLS| gigs but i will come close. trying to make the spring In MJ brake seems to be harder than first thought.

129,000 mp3's. I just deleted 500 because they get in the way of the songs that I really want to listen to. I had 2200 before the deletions (I don't have playlists, or genres, or anything like that. I just right-click on Media Library and select "play" and I find it annoying when I have to walk back over to the computer and skip a song.).
