Hello, i've got a problem with concurrent ripping: It always tries to read from the drive with the first letter, and never from the second.

For example, assuming I have the drives set as D: and E:, if I put a disc in E: JRiver reads the CD information properly, but when I click rip it tries to read from D: then gives an error as there's no CD in that drive ("Read Track Failed: Parameter is out of range"). I've tried changing drive letter assignments, and when I click rip it always goes to the drive with the first letter in the alphabet. The problem gets worse if I try to rip from both drives as it tries to read both CDs from the same drive, which obviously fails and sends the drive into thrashing.

Current setup is:
Windows 8 x64
JRiver 17.0.0.189 (i've also tried version 18 which does exactly the same thing)
Drive 1: TSSTcorp SH-S223F
Drive 2: TSSTcorp SH-B123L

I've set concurrent rip processes to 2 and max combined processes to 6.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Somebody else noticed this issue as well.  Give the JRiver foiks a couple of days - they've been drinking through a firehose of late...

Here's a copy of the log if it helps. I've put the disc in I:, but it tries to read from H:. Interestingly it's identifying both drives as the same in SPTIScanForDrives, despite them being different models.

Thanks for the logging details.  We've seen this problem several times in about the last 3 or 4 months, but we have been unable to duplicate it.  I thought it was a side effect of the changes we've made for Mac, but that can't be the case if it also happens on MC17.

It's possible this is an OS level problem.  Are you running Win8?
