In Web Media if I select DSL/CABLE/LAN I get also stations with speed below like 16k

Can't there be an option to select decades ? like 1980's, 1990's, 1970's ...

Mini-Me Bug:
1. MJ crashes 100% of the time when changing mini-me skin from mini-me's right-click menu.  I have this problem (crash) on WinXP changing from LowerLeft to LowerRight and vice-versa...everytime.  WinXP crash info:

I have started MJ 239 four times and stopped MJ 239 four times. Every time I have stopped MJ, I receive the message that MJ has performed an illegal operation and it will be shut down. I can tell it to shut down, and it does; appears that all goes well. Don't have to re-boot or anything. What's goin' on?

When "Auto-Hide Bars" is turned off and "Resize display for bars" is turned on, then minize MJ and restore back,
Visualtisations are not refreshed, part behind Bar is not showing

DSP Studio :   If I right click on DFX, the menu appears in the wrong place. If I've moved the DSP Studio Window towards the bottom of the screen, then right click on the DFX window, the menu appears in the same general vicinity as it did before I moved the DSP Sutdio Window.

Not that I care, because I don't used DFX at all. I was just playing around. This may indicate some other problem, though.

When  clicking on the Close button I get the following error.. Seems to happen after I stop playing the music and than exit.
This has happened 3 times so far. I can close the error window and start MJ again with no problem.

Customizing the toolbar with additional buttons isn't remembered when MJ is restarted. I've added the DSP button several times now and every time I restart MJ it isn't there.

Toolbar in vis studio is messed up in full screen view. The button 'tools' is hidden behind the other toolbar and the you cannot slide that toolbar to expose the button. Caution- may not be able to go back to the minimized screen if you select full screen.

I have a song playing and am in Playing Now; I click on the Media Library in the Organization Tree; while the Content View redraws, the sound goes silent for about 1/4 second.

I take back what I posted earlier about the new Player controls look.  I thought it was hard-coded into the program; since it can be modified, I can make it look any way I want it to.  Kewl!

Hello Folks,

Don't know if this one has already been reported :

When (Enable Scrollbars) is on with a Track Info page, access to the lower
horizontal Scrollbar is impossible since the Splitter Bar comes over it !

Oooops !
sorry I found a way to make the horizontal scrollbar visible by enabling
the (Options/Resize Display for Bars) option in the Visualization menu.

But still, don't you think this option should always be on ?
Also, don't you think the Enable Scrollbars option should be in the option menu ?

Found a small bug: when inserting an audio CD for the first time (ie, never been cataloged) and MJ is NOT already open,
the CDDB lookup fails 100% of the time. I can't seem to paste the image here, but the error says:
Action: Accessing disk CDDB information.
Status: CDDB: HTTP processing error (82fa0026)
Hitting ok then opens up MJ, without the actual cd info.

From here, I can go to Devices > Audio CD, right click, and choose Update from CDDB and it works fine.

Nomad II connectivity has been broken for the last dozen or so MJ8 betas.

Attempting to access the Nomad II causes a CO Create error.  The Creative tools and a variety of other programs have no problems accessing my Nomad II.

Interfacing with my Nomad II and Nomad Jukebox was one of the reasons I bought the software - I would be really appreciative if you could make it work again.

SeanC,

The NomadII Plugin is working successfully for many people.  I have yet to come across anyone that I have been unsucessful at getting this going for. Almost certainly it is a matter of getting compatible drivers installed.  Can you verify for me what Operating System you have, what version of the Plug-in you have installed and whether or not you have installed the stand alone driver update from Creative's site.

For the missing DSP EQ settings (EQ settings dissapears every time you start the program). I fix it going to the registry in the properties of media jukebox and there you will find EQ_Settings and EQ PRESETS. Just go to the player and set your DSP eq settings like you like it, add it (To save it). Then go to this settings in the registry while the player is still open and do a copy of those settings. After that just close the player and go again to the registry and you will find that the settings are not there so you just paste the settings that you copy previusly to EQ_Settings and EQ PRESETS and every time you open your MediaBox the settings will be there and will be the deffault. Enjoy!

When playing media directly from Windows Explorer (right-click|play or double click) media is added automatically to the library. If this is by design can you please make it an option - it's driving me mad. I end up with a load of garbled library entruies with no assosciated files - that's after I correctly, locate, name and tag the media of course...

I posted this in another thread (but realized it's probably not helpful to the developers to have feedback on the beta all over the place):

I've been mixing waves and encoding them to Fraunhofer highest quality VBR in Cool Edit 2000. All indications in CE2K tell me the files are the size I want them to be and the bit-rate encoding is working properly. But when I pull them into MJ 8 beta, I get weird displays. Like a 4:30 file will say it's 23 minutes long, encoded at 32 bit; yet it will seem to play correctly.

Is this another little bug that needs to be worked out of the beta version, or is something mightily wrong with my other software? Is anyone else having this kind of experience? I'd feel less queasy about it if I knew it was just a display issue that will get resolved and not something fundamentally wrong with the files themselves.

I have Windows XP
AMD Athlon (Gateway)
Lotsa resources

A small issue I found that might just be only on my syst, but you guys can tell me if it might be MJ or just me.

I clicked a link on a web page to view a truck report that is in Quick Time format and got a blank page and MJ didnt open and run it, I checked the properties of the link and it said that it is an MJ associated file, I had to run Quick Time so that it would find associated files and repair so this I could watch the clip/report. what do I do to correct this if it is an issue on my end or is it an issue for MJ.

Thank you,,

MJ shuts down when you try to import a file with a long file name; like "11a-Chase Around the Windmill 11b-Toss the Feathers 11c-Ballinas loe Fair 11d-Cailleach an Airgid 11e-Cuil Aodha Slide 11f-the P retty Girl" by The Cheftians or "You Never Get Too Big and You Sure Don't Get Too Heavy That You Don't have to Stop and Pay Dues" by Doug Sahm.

When having 2 or more libraries the view settings are not specific for each library but are just duplicated.
This also applies to renamed custom fields.
Library 1 can't have differently named custom fields than library 2 etc.

also, when exiting MJ in for instance library 2, and starting the next session with MJ in library 1, the playing now
list is the one from libary 2, and not as it should be the playing now for library 1.

Robert Long:

At the moment, MJ doesn't support Quicktime files even though they're listed in the File associations. Many people have badgered J River about this, but apparently it's pretty hard to do without Quicktime supporting COM objects. You should go to Settings->Options->File Associations and turn off .mov if you don't want MJ to try and play them. Otherwise you may find MJ reclaiming its associations.

When I Have Settings Behavior Set To:

Double-Click: Replace Playing Now (All)
Play Button: Playing Now

And Have Files Selected, And Press The Play Button MJ Tells Me To "Please Select Files To Play"

Since I Know There Are No Files Currently In Playing Now, That MJ Should Look To See If I Have Files Selected To Play First Before Telling Me To Select Files To Play.

Windowed mode doesn't start when using "Last Exit Mode" on startup. Also should be selectable on the file menu: View/Windowed or something. Maybe a toolbar button and a hotkey to turn on/off.

A nice addition would be to show just the playlist in playing now when you activate windowed mode and when closing, it brings it to back to where it was (50/50 or whatever).

Occasionally DM just quits without warning, without any kind of message, or really, without any kind of indication. The icon will still be visible in the system tray, but when I move my mouse over it, it dissapears. Because I can never know for sure when it shut down, it's hard to figure out if there was anything I might have done to cause it.

Download Manager Bug:
1. The DM attempts to download files that were momentarily in the download queue but were deleted prior to their time to download.  Example, if you download 2 tracks from eMusic, check them out, like them, start a bunch of other files downloading, then go back and do a complete download of the album you liked (got 2 tracks from already), delete the 2 duplicate download tracks in queue, when DM reaches the spot where the 2 tracks where duplicated in the queue DM will attempt to download them anyways and display an the error dialog.  At this point you press Cancel and DM skips the 2nd download attempt and goes on.

Just noticed this on Win2k. I can have both mega-me and mini-me active on the screen at the same time. I select mini-me mode then hit the taskbar button for MJ and instead of making mini-me the active window it restores mega-me. If I then hit the mini-me icon on the toolbar mini-me closes. It does not work this way on WinXP.

If a CD track name (from CDDB) does not comply with DOS naming convention, and you use the 'Track # - Name' template, then MJ crashes. All you see is an 'error writing output file'.

I would have expected it to either remove the offending characters from the filename, or skipping the track.

I am using W2k SP2.
