Crackling sound

I bought a copy of Mac media center in April 30, the things is the reproduction of files sounds choppy and there is a constant crackling sound,  most of the files on my library sounds like that.
I have an 2011 imac, files are AIFF (all of them sounds bad)  and some (one or two) WAV do souns ok.

Any suggestions?

Yes, I downloaded this: but the distortion in sound persists. (I was away, and hence this delay in downloading and getting back now). Do help.

Have you tried setting the buffer [ Options-> Audio Output-> Output mode settings... -> Buffer Size ] to "Hardware Default"?
