Gizmo Android app on S4
« on: June 11, 2013, 12:01:03 pm »

I recently got a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and I cannot get the Gizmo app to work on it. I can stream video fine to Gizmo web or the Gizmo app on my Android tablet, but not my new phone. I have uninstalled the app and re-installed and it is still not working. I can connect to my server, browse my list if videos and choose one, but it will stop playing after a couple of seconds and send me back to the list. It worked fine on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I have tried over 4G and WiFi with no luck. I am guessing it has to do with flash being no longer supported on Android? Is Gizmo going to support the newer non-flash Android phones?

I'm having the same problem on my Droid DNA with Verizon. It still works on my Motorola Droid 3. I tried the new beta players too like 195 and was using 175.

What you are experiencing is not Flash related, as far as I am aware.
I have no problems on my Xperia. Both the Google Play and direct download version of Gizmo

Do you have the xperia Z/ZL, because it has a similar hardware architecture to ours. I wonder if its the way our phones handles the network. What network are you guys on? I'm on Verizon, but it will still stop after a fews secs of playing on my local WiFi network, so maybe that rules out Verizon LTE.
