I want to use JRiver on a Mac Mini controlled by JRemote on an iPad and was wondering about using the Mac Mini to play CDs that I don't rip to disk.   If the Mac Mini is just left on all the time after being configured, would JRiver be able to control CD playback directly without iTunes being involved?  Could I just pop in the CD and do this all from the JRemote iPad app or would I need to have a small screen and mouse connected to the Mini ?

Sorry, this isn't currently possible.  It's an important enhancement that we'll be adding at some point in the future.

Does that also apply to CD ripping in the Mac version or can we expect that earlier?

Ripping to FLAC on a Mac would obsolete my Windows PC completely.

More than likely, playback and ripping will emerge at the same time.
