JRiver not recognizing all files
« on: August 05, 2013, 02:54:33 pm »

We have about 2000 cd's loaded on a Music Vault diamond music server, all in wav format, 4 T storage.  I noticed the other day that a few cd's were missing in a group of Wyton Marsalis.  We had a total of 25 cd's but 4 were missing in the JRiver.  They are all listed on the hard drive and I could click on a individual track and it would play, but still it would not show up in the JRiver!  I am not sure if there are other files like this, we only happen to stumble on this when looking for a particular cd.  I have checked all the listing that they could be under but nothing.

There are two likely candidates:

1. MC is having trouble with the file path or file name.  So, can you reply with the file's full file path and name?

2. They might be in the "Bad" database, due to trouble importing.  Create a new Smartlist, and use the Import/Export button and paste in:

     ~d=b

Do you see any files there, or the files you're looking for?  Since you say they play fine, perhaps this case is less likely.
