Running JRiver from linux command line
« on: October 15, 2013, 09:42:45 pm »

In this post bob mentions that you can run JRiver from command line using mediacenter /mediaserver

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=84402.0

This only works in an xterm with X windows running but it does work. I am interested in learning more about the command line options of JRiver.

What exactly does "mediacenter /mediaserver" do? Is this running in the background using /mediaserver as the media library? What other command line options are available?

It's JRiver, not JRiver.  The latter looks like iRiver, and there is no relationship.  Thanks.

It appears something has changed with regards to running from the command line.
I just verified that it's not working from the command line without a running xserver (local or remote over ssh).

It looks like I was always running it with either a local or remote server (via ssh). For now, the server is required.
You can do this with the xserver-xorg-video-dummy server with the next build.
There will be setup instructions when that's posted.
