This was my post in the 19.0.74 Thread

"After updating to 19.0.74 I am experiencing a strange problem (running Ubuntu 13.10 x64).  It installed without errors and the first time I ran it it worked perfectly and I closed the program.  The next time I ran the program the window would not open up.  It created the second icon in the launcher but that is all it does.  I have tried closing and re-opening it, I have tried rebooting, I tried re-installing it.  Nothing works.  I reinstalled version 19.0.72 and it still works well.  Anyone else have this happen?  I don't think I changed any settings but I am not positive so it is possible that I changed a setting that is causing this."

After installing 19.0.76 I still had the same problem.  However I finally figured it out.  I have 2 monitors connected to my computer (my TV is the 2nd).  For some reason releases 74 & 76 are showing up esclusively on the 2nd monitor (TV).  Versions 72 and prior don't do that and no other program does that.  So far I have not been able to find a setting in MC to correct this so my work around is to set the system to mirror the monitors.  For now this doesn't seem to be a big deal but in the long term I don't want to have the monitors mirrored.

Thanks,
Jim

@JimCo06:
What desktop are you running?  I noticed with KDE 4.10 some strange window/screen issues like you describe, but since 4.11, all is well.

Depending on your launcher, you can also choose Move from the icon and then just click/drag the MC window back to the primary screen....

Hi Mike,
I am running the Unity desktop on Ubuntu 13.10 x64, just a plain install, no modifications or customizations.  Both monitors are attached to the computer through an ATI Radeon video card. The primary monitor is connected with the standard DVI connector while the TV is using an HDMI connection.

I can't seem to find an option to "Move", but I'll keep looking.  I will also try dragging the window.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've compared the jriver benchmarks between my windows and debian systems. I understand were in early stages of development, but these two were particularly bad and are bringing the score way down (2800 vs 4000).

Bilinear rendering 4.142 (0.853)
Bicubic rendering 2.370 (0.502)

Is this something in my system or something in MC that will be addressed at some point?

Thanks.

Operating system: SUSE 12.3 x64

Buglist:

1. The BROWSE-buttons won't start the browser
2. solved
3. none of the skins but NOIRE show the play-buttons.
4. not possible to access the burning device
5. not to many windows have titles
6. File locations can't be edited
7. Window will open delayed
8. solved
9. resizing windows is almost impossible
10. window operations causing the window to flicker (background turns white, no contents visible, sometimes for long time)
11.Renaming (moving) files by setting up base path and rules generating wrong pathes:
Base path: The base path as no effect at all
Rule: Instead of replacing the existing path, the rule is added to the end of the existing path.
Also, you have to enter the backslash instead a slash to generate a subdir.
12. Importing a database which was generated under Windows will not allow you to change to UNIX path declaration (would be nice to have)

Cannot install at all.  I get an error message that the i386 architecture is not supported.  My install is 64bit (AMD) even though I am on an intel computer.  Solutions?

If you're on debian you need to do:

dpkg --add-architecture i386
apt-get update

Some of the packages you need to install the i386 version from. See the installing on 64-bit topic on top of the Linux board.

Are you using proprietary drivers in Linux?

We can add a few things to this list (on Debian Wheezy x64):
- Hotkeys don't work: F2 (edit), Ctrl-A (select all), Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V (copy/paste, Delete (delete :)).
- When editing a field, arrows, tab, etc don't work to navigate fields.
- Dragging a window behaves erratically, it jumps all over the place, suddenly moves off screen, etc etc. (Nr. 10)
- SACD and dff/dst files aren't playing.

Copy and paste doesn't seem to be working either (when trying to c/p expressions and whatnot).

I'm thinking of buying it. Is there a VST plugin with which the program is compatible?

Thanks in advance

It's possible the SSE code isn't working. Will take a look now that we've almost reached the end of the server blues..
