Can wma playback be made an option. I have 400 CDs of my 1500 CDs in wma lossless format. My marantz 8801 plays these well via jrremote and my jr media server.
I'm not sure I understand, but MC does play WMA files.  It also serves unprotected WMA files (ie. no DRM).

Please start a new thread if you'd like to discuss more.

If I ripped my CDs to WMA lossless several years ago, are they protected or not?

Thanks.

It was optional.

Look at the 'Protection Type' column in Media Center.  If it's not empty, the files have DRM.

You might also consider converting to any other open lossless format for better compression and broader support.

It looks like I did not protect them which is good since I want it listen to them over The server.

If I had, how  would I deprotect them ?

You can't.
