problems with library
« on: February 26, 2002, 06:28:46 am »

I'm running mj 7.2.280 on win 2000.  I've got 18 mp3 files in one subdirectory on my local drive, but I can only get 8 of them imported into my library.  I don't know what I should try next.  Begging for suggestions.

Hi pheezy,

After importing (Tools/Import media..) Look at the number of file imported/failed import.
See if you see 18 in Number of attempted to import.
Also, there is a button named Details, press it,  it will show you any problem you might have with succeded / failed imports.
It could be because of some forbidden characters in your filenames.
Can you play all 18 files manually with Files/Open Media Files... ??

After (attempted) importing, it says that it attempted 18 files.  There is no text available when I click on the Details page.  I don't *see* any chars that I would think would cause a problem.  All files can be played manually by opening them via Files|Open.  What can I try next?
