Problem with ASIO and 19.0.125
« on: April 05, 2014, 11:16:44 am »

The new version causes periodic loud popping sounds which I have never heard before.  I do not know how to get rid of it.

Power everything down and back up.

Provide some details on what you are playing and what your equipment is.

See the link called "Weird Problems" in my signature.

What else has changed?

I rebooted as instructed.

I am using a M2Tech Young DSD DAC and using their ASIO driver.  I listen to both PCM and DSD files.  It is worse with PCM.  It does not seem to matter what resolution of PCM files I am using.  The pops occur on the average of 1-3 per minute.  It is very aggravating.  This has occurred since I installed the latest version of MC.  I am running Windows 8. This did not occur under the previous version of MC which I think was 19.0.117.  As a matter of fact since I have been running MC, this is the first occurrence of that problem.

I don't think anything has changed recently with our support for DSD or ASIO.  What may have changed on your machine?

You could try reinstalling 19.0.117.

You could try using WASAPI.

Is it possible the pop happens when the device switches from PCM to DSD or DSD to PCM?

Don't use memory playback.
