How to move multi-track file playlist (to a new location)?
« on: April 25, 2014, 01:45:45 am »

I try this:
Library Tools > Rename, Move, &Copy files...
Select "update database to point to a new location..." and
"find & replace" for multitrack file path, like .ape .flac .iso(SACD),

Result:
Before replacement, the path string contains track number ";n", like ";1" ";2" ...
After replacement, the path string drop the track number
Since the new track file path doesn't contain track number anymore, mc19 won't play the track.
(For single track file, this is a proper way to move an entire folder.)

Question:
How to move a multi-track file playlist (to a new location)?

Can you try choosing
"Rename (moves files if directory changes)" and
"Find and Replace"?
There write at "Find What" the base path of the tracks
and at "Replace with" the new path... Does this work for you?

Also, if you want you need is to copy a playlist with its tracks I would suggest the "handheld" options of MC.

I hope this helps...

I had to change drive letter, say, C:\media, is now D:\media
no problem at all to use "Rename, Move, &Copy files..." tool to relocate playlist for movies, mp3's, or any media that doesn't need a ";track" bandage in filepath

Can you try choosing

"Find and Replace"?

Thanks, but same result :(

I think this is a known bug when doing a Rename, Move & Copy in Update mode to these conglomerate file types.

Exactly, a known bug.
I even reported this bug last year.
It seems that JRiver team treated this bug as a feature.
That's why I asked again for any alternative
