Gapless Playback Problems
« on: July 27, 2014, 08:41:37 pm »

I am new in the last month to media center.  I have everything set to gapless in the audio options, but I still get a short silence between tracks.  I also tried play from memory and it made no difference.  I did notice the last time I tried playing sequential gapless tracks that the television showed a buffering message briefly during the silence.  Can anybody help me solve this?  Thanks.

If you are using DLNA, not many DLNA device support gaplelss playback.  You can search here for more information.  AndrewFG and Bob have discussed it a lot.

I also noticed, that there is a short break between song 1 and song 2 when there shouldn't be. But when I then start track 1 again and seek to the last few seconds to validate the problem, playback is gapless. I play files from an internal HDD, had tried memory playback turned on/off and also changed the buffer from 2s to 6s. All measures had no effect. Any suggestions?

Are you using DLNA or USB or some other method to connect the computer with MC to some hardware (what hardware?) that receives the digital audio and plays it back?  You might get better answers if you gave this information!

The Computer is connected to an exasound e20 DAC via USB.

Is there any input on this matter? I'm listening to The Wall now and this small break between the tracks is really annoying :-\

Did you try this option?

Audio > Do not play silence (leading or trailing)
