System reboots when right-clicking drives during playback
« on: August 13, 2014, 03:00:51 pm »

So, I know that issues like this are usually indicators of a hardware problem, but three times in the last couple of days, my system has done a hard reset when I am playing a video in Media Center, and have right-clicked on one of my Blu-ray drives to select "add to playing now."

My system has otherwise been completely stable, and there have been no issues accessing the drives outside of Media Center.
Unfortunately, I'm not really seeing much useful information in the system logs, but this is the only time it seems to happen.

I know it's not a useful post, but I was wondering if there were any suggestions, or if it's something to be investigated?

That's really weird.

What if you right-click the drive right after you run?

Could you send us a log using Help > Logging?

Unfortunately it's not 100% reproducible, but it's happening frequently enough that it is a problem.

I'll try to get a log, but they never seem to include crash dumps. (and I'm not sure they would, since the PC is resetting?)

No antivirus, haven't added/removed any devices for months, so no driver changes.
I do use AnyDVD HD, but I've tried a few different versions without it making any difference.

Did it begin when a new version was installed?

No, I don't think AnyDVD is causing this.
