4xDSD native asio, correct output frequency?
« on: October 17, 2014, 02:35:33 pm »

Hi.
During my tests on dsd256, and, generally, on glitches, Amanero asked me a log from jrmc20, configured with "output encoding 4xDSD in native format", with and without "bitstreaming: Yes (DSD)".
Scenario was playing a playlist of 3 tracks, 1 flac, 1 dsd128, 1 mp3.
I've checked rapidly the logs (one per different bitstreaming), and I've seen asio opened and closed for each track (probably non necessary, correct?), but the thing I do not understand is this:
0006562: 2704: Playback: CASIOPlugin::StartASIO: Finish (result: 1) (16 ms)
0006562: 2704: Playback: CASIOPlugin::Open: Set ASIO sample rate to 11289600: 1
0006562: 2704: Playback: CASIOPlugin::Open: === ASIO Playback Starting ===

Device: ASIO YULONG Audio 384K DSD DAC (0 channel shift)
Buffer Type: 33 (4096 samples)
Output Format: 1411200 kHz - 2 channels
Post Output Ready: 1
ASIOStart Return Value: 0 (should be 0)
Plugin Open Return Value: 0 (should be 0)

Is it a different way to report the information, or an error?
Thanks a lot

11289600 is 44100 * 256.  That's right.

11289600 / 8 = 1411200

I think the variation is because sample rate can be per DSD sample or per DSD byte.

Thanks, Matt.
Now it is clear. Btw, next week my yulong da8 goes to Amanero, where Domenico is going to test it with his debugged drivers and jrmc20 to check for the glitches I find.
Maybe he'll contact you in the forum.
