How do I select both the "source" and the "destination"?
« on: November 12, 2014, 10:34:53 pm »

I asked a question about how to use JRemote to switch between using the Id's hard drive as the library and using the Id as a renderer for my main music server's library.  I was told I should be able to use JRemote to select both the "source" and the "destination".  When I asked how to do this, I was told I had to ask the question here, not in the Id board.  So, again, how do I use JRemote to select both the source and the destination?

Have you read through the setup instructions?  They are "pinned" threads at the top of this board.

With the remote, you first must connect to a server.  That is done by using an Access Key.  Are you able to do that?

The Media Network topic on our wiki may also be helpful.

Yes.  J Remote is connected to three servers--my main library on a Mac Mini, a laptop that renders the Mac Mini's library, and the Id.

What I am looking to do is use JRemote to switch between using the Id's hard drive as the library source and using the Id as a player of my main library on the networked Mac Mini.  I am able to do this by connecting the Id to a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and using the Id's GUI, but obviously that is not very convenient.  Can I do this switch using JRemote?

I am trying to get the issue here:

Seems like you are asking for a way to switch the current library from the remote?
If so, this is currently not supported. However, it would be useful to add this capability to the web service.

I`ll see if this is something that can be added to MC20.

Thank you, Lespaul.  It would indeed be very useful.
