How to play DSD files in a non DSD DAC
« on: January 22, 2015, 04:58:42 am »

Hello,

I have a USB DAC that can not play DSD files natively.

I have MC 20.0.47.

My DAC will play up to 176.4KHz.  So in the Tools -> Options -> Settings -> DSP & Output Format

I have checked the output format and for everything higher than 176.4KHz I have set the output to 176.4Khz.

I am using an ASIO driver.

I have not checked the DSD bitstream in DoP format

When I play DFF and DSF files all I get is extremely loud static.

?

That's really a mystery.  Setting the resampling is the only thing you should have to do.

Could you share one of the files that makes static with matt at jriver dot com?

The problems seem to be with the ASIO driver I am using.  If I use Kernel Streaming direct out of JRiver the DSD files play fine.

If I try to use jplay asio driver than it doesn't work.  Any ideas why not?
