Controlling Web Based Audio
« on: January 27, 2015, 01:36:53 pm »

I've used JRiver off-and-on for years, but always pretty casually.  I now want to set up a music system where I can control all of my music sources from one interface.  I want to use a low powered PC running JRiver as the server and control it with Gizmo or JRemote.  I know how to tie into files I have on a DLNA compliant server that is in the system.  However, I also want to be able to remotely control Spotify, Pandora, Rhapsody, iTunes, the zillion stations available thru TuneIn radio, etc.  In short, I'd like the same interface to be able to remotely control whatever streaming audio source(s) I have enabled on the PC.

As far as I can tell, I can't do this thru JRiver.  Is that correct?

Does anyone know how to get such functionality?

You could play Spotify, Pandora, Rhapsody through the WDM driver, then you'd be able to control the volume with JRemote.

But starting playback you'd have to use the appropriate web widget.
