Streaming my own Music
« on: October 02, 2003, 02:44:16 pm »

Is there anyway from within MC to stream what I'm listening to out over a network?

I'd like to play stuff on a server and be able to listen to it on multiple computers in my home.

I know with media server I can share files centrally, but i was looking to play the same thing at the same (or close to) time either by streaming or by somehow telling MC whats playing when.

Any ideas?

An unanswered post! Ill jump in - even though I cant help much.

AFAIK no way to synchronise over multiple zones/computers. My understanding is that different hardware can introduce lags that MC cannot do anything about. This understandably seems to be the holy grail, but given I dont have any of this stuff, just a PC and stereo connected, Im no expert. Im just relaying what Ive read on the board.

Theres people here (mastiff, pclausen) with enviable setups. Im not sure they can solve your problem, but if nothing else its interesting to read about portable multizone setups for use in the CAR for crying out loud! :)
