Copy and pasting tags works well, though it can be clumsy if you have a lot to migrate. Copy and paste also handles most, but not
all, fields. The main one that irritates me is [Date Imported], for example, but I believe it also doesn't copy over play stats (like number of plays, etc). One other big possible issue with the copy and paste method is that the new files are considered new files by MC, which means that if they are part of any "regular" Playlists, that they won't be "replaced" in your Playlists (which will still point to the "old" original files). If you have a lot of files you're re-ripping, and you have a bunch of manually crafted Playlists, this could be nightmarish to fix the usual way.
