Wedding day bliss
« on: September 26, 2003, 04:46:31 am »

Hi J River team, been a while since my last post, got married so been a little bit busy.  :-/

Thought you might like to know the setup for the music at the reception held at my 16th century barn house.

An Accent HTPC in my study running MC 9.1 stable used as the media server. A laptop running same  in the reception marquee 50 meters away connected to an amplifier and speakers. The laptop and the server connected by a wifi network. A compaq ipaq running netremote via wifi to controll the whole thing from wherever I was.

It all worked like a dream, all the guests were green with envy, and all i had to do is switch between the arrival, dance and smootch playlists at the appropriate times. SWEET......   ;D

So thanks a lot for all your hard work, keep up the develpoment and exceptional support you give all us MC junkies.

No - it's the one that flips a coin and decides if it's going to work or not :)

I can fully believe that you trusted your reception to Media Center.

But I can't believe you trusted WI-FI!  You must have very big cajones!

Congrats!
