What about OSD support for SBS/OU-formats? Those formats already play inside MC, but once you put the projector in SBS or OU mode, everything but the video image itself is all over the place. What I am suggesting is adding new file extensions (for example .mkou and .mksb) and having those extensions trigger a mirroring of the OSD. Then maybe SBS/OU mode Theater view later on, since that would obviously involve more work.

That would be a good feature request. You should post this in that thread.

This sounds familiar :)

I've requested this before too. It would make things run more smoothly for sure. Right now the HOU or SBS video plays great... until one does anything OSD related or the MC title/playback bar appears.

Yes, I did suggest it before. Thought it's time for another try  :)

I hope it won't die! But we do have to remember to remain reasonable in what we ask, and that it's not our company! :)
That said, there have been some changes suggested that might be more doable than full 3D support.

I have two clients who are quite disappointed so far with the state (and expense) of 3D playback on the PC, and that MC doesn't do it. I, personally, am not that disappointed with MC for  not supporting 3D since we know (kind of) what's involved; I would, however, be overjoyed if this got some love based on some of the suggestions.

Greetings:

Thanks for your input and clarifications. My concern about the lack of 3D feature is taking a away the joy of using MC, and I am convinced some would be customers are been turned off.
I know there is a partial solution to this internal ability of MC to play 3D.

Again thanks.

Well this is really disappointing yet again.
I keep wondering if not now then when?.
It's been a long time since a new feature in JRiver wowed me and 3D would have.

Ekpen,
You've made your point.  You don't need to repeat it.

Makes no sense since it relies on MadVR and it probably just wont support 3D. Look when you care about quality the only way to do proper 3D in the home is 2 projectors and some heavy software. Its not feasible.

I think it looks "real nice" coming from my 3D Samsung Blu-ray player to my Samsung 64F8500 TV. I don't have dual projector setup (so I don't know what I'm missing there) - but I'd still like the chance to watch some 3D on my TV without having to pull out the physical disk. I appreciate the work jmone is putting into this work around.
