Updated to Win 10, now no ROHQ
« on: September 06, 2015, 09:52:09 am »

I have a client that was Windows 8.1 that I just upgraded to Windows 10.  Now, if I try to use ROHQ video playback, it tries, but eventually locks up completely.  Is anyone else using MC20 with Windows 10 on ROHQ?

I have already purchased MC21, but haven't upgraded yet.  Are there any stability issues in TV for MC21 that I should know before upgrading (assuming this will fix the ROHQ issue)?

The firewall is probably blocking access to the components needed.

TV should be better in MC21.

That's possible.  I typically turn off the Windows Firewall, but I think on another box I upgraded, the upgrade turned it back on.  I will check and report back.

Nope...firewall was off.

Basically, it flashes between video and black screen 5-8 times, and then the video driver crashes (or that is what appeared to happen this time...I got a notification that the video hardware failed to start).  I am using the latest Nvidia driver for the GTX960.

Did you try Nvidia?  Or the madVR thread on the doom9 forum?

I looked through the Doom9 page.  To be honest, it was way too much info.  I did find some bug reports regarding Nvidia, but I don't know if they are the cause or not.

It may be my system, or a driver version, or something else.

I mostly wanted to know if anyone else has been successful on Windows 10 with ROHQ on a Nvidia GPU so I know if it is my setup, or a bug somewhere.

Are you using NNEDI?  There are reports that the latest NVidia driver broke NNEDI entirely.

I have a 960 GTX too, and MadVr is working great for me on Win 10 (other than NNEDI)

That is a mystery then; I assume you uninstalled your video drivers and reinstalled after the upgrade?  If not, I'd suggest doing so, mine were pretty borked after the upgrade.

On this particular box, it was a clean install.
