MC 11 BUG: Ati Remote Wonder Play/Stop buttons don't work
« on: April 13, 2005, 11:59:19 am »

MC 11: Ati Remote Wonder Remote Play/Stop buttons don't work on my system. They work fine on MC 10.

Does anyone else have this problem?

The volume, arrow buttons work fine.

I have that problem too.  Would be nice if Remote Wonder is supported as standard plugin since it
comes with many ATI boards.

Why doesn't the ATI remote not work in MC11? It worked fine in MC9x.

Did you try a search here?  I believe other people have it working.  I'm not certain.

I believe some people use tools that map remote keys to keyboard commands or girder. If there is no other solution, I will go down that route, but this is not a good solution for mainstream usage. (you could say that the mainstream does not use TV+remote combination, but the reason is probably because this setup is not trivial yet).

Bottom line: MC 10 understands these commands, and MC 11 does not, maybe it is just a small bug.

For the more advanced keys; well I wish they were a native remote wonder plugin, but I understand that this cannot be a priority just yet.

Remote wonder probably sends some standard codes for the simple buttons. MC10 understands them, MC11 does not.

If we want the advanced features of MC to be used by mainstream,

I don't like the

I can probably use one of the tools, but people who are going to migrate from MC10 to MC11 may expect that their hardware to work after the switch.

I noticed this prob. a while back with MC11.

The basic win commands that ATI sends out ,

That worked with MC9 and 10 no longer do.

Only ones that do work are the arrow keys and the enter.

The only way to get play, stop and ect. to work is to prog. them into Keyfactory, Uice, or Girder.

Speaking of girder:

In doing my homework, I found this thread

Anything new on this?

I could not get it to work.
