Time for new CD / DVD (and Blu Ray?)
« on: July 21, 2011, 02:14:39 pm »

My internal Samsung CD/DVD drive appears to be having trouble, so its time to replace it.

Any recommendations on today's drives?

- internal
- SATA interface, no IDE

Should I consider Blu Ray too?

That one reads Blu-ray but doesn't write Blu-ray.

Correct Jim, writting Blu ray was not on my agenda for the purchase...

Thanks guys.  I went with the cheaper one because...

1) I loved the Samsung I have, despite its current death throes.
2) I don't foresee writing Blu-ray for quite some time.
3) I foresee spending some of the saved $40 on MC17 soon.  :-)
