I had flipped through the 9 pages and pretty sure this question had not been asked/answered.
If yes, I am truly sorry I missed it.......
Can JRemote for Android interface with a Mac mini running JRiver21 for Mac.?
..if not, can Gizmo on Android phone interface with the above Mac.

Giving up my iPad in place of Samsung Tab.

Any1 is currently in this configuration?

I love that cache feature in Gizmo, but don't forget JRemote supposedly can stream native audio format to phone (ie: 24bit 192kHz flac, so I am told). Gizmo will always first transcode to mp3, then send to phone. So if you have an unlimited data plan and a high quality phone DAC capable of quality transcoding's, no need to buy a Pono from Neil.....for me this is a big benefit...well maybe more so in up coming years.

I am new here so hello to everyone! I purchased JRemote about 4 months ago through google playstore and my google account. I have since changed to a new phone but google does not find JRemote as one of my purchased apps so what now as I dont want to have to pay for it again.

The Google store decides whether the app will run on each device. We can't change that.

On Android, you don't exit programs. I find it a little odd, but that's what it is.

Just press the Home button or the Back button a number of times and you'll get out of JRemote, and if nothing is playing it'll just "hide" itself. If something is playing, its specifically designed to install itself into the notification area.

I have noticed that JRemote often does not recognize a zone (media renderer) that is obviously visible to JRiver Media Center as I can play to the device using Bubble remote. When this happens, Gizmo also does not recognize the zone.

If you just use JRemote to control streaming from MC to a DLNA renderer, then the quality settings in JRemote do not affect the playback, you need to configure MC itself.

I chose "PCM 24-bit" and "Original" file Settings (FLAC) in Settings of DLNA Server but sound via "air" (WLAN) ist not the same quality as directly out of JRiver MC. Anyway thanks for the hint

Try going to media network and configuring your DLNA settings. They do not necessarily default to your MC settings.

Often, I want to play ALL the tracks from a particular artist. I can search the artist on my Android device, but I can't multi-select the albums I see by the artist and choose to play them (random, for instance). Will that functionality come one day? Maybe a "Files" icon under "Audio" would suffice, when the search function could work there.

^ In Gizmo, if you do a search, one of the matches will be Artist. When you click on the result, you get a menu with a few choices. One is "play", which seems to do a semi-random ordering of full albums. Another is Shuffle, which adds all songs in a full random order (not by album). I actually think that the Gizmo results aren't very useful because you can NOT drill down from search results to find an album or a song. You just get the menu.

I'll bet we could build you a view that does what you want though. Displays Artists, and when you click the artist, displays all songs from all albums. Optionally ordered randomly by album (but sorted within album). If that would be helpful, I think it would be easy to do.

Hello, I love jremote from my ios days. So I installed it on my Android Lg G4 smartphone.
Everything seems to work well, except that for an unknown reason, when playing back on the device (the LG) albums are treated as if there was no .cue file. Actually, on one hand all the tracks are DISPLAYED accurately as a list (name and duration etc), but when I select any track the whole .flac file will be played back from the beginning and the only way to advance through it is to move the cursor manually. I have albums that are stored as individual .flac files and some that are stored as .cue+.flac. I believe this problem affects only the latteré I also believe that the problem hits after a certain period of correct functioning. Reconnecting to the server possibly resets the situation and then bang.

Any plans for JRemote? Would like to see picture support, better caching (free Gizmo works better). There are also some bugs that I would like to see fixed. For example playing now doesn't get populated always especially when using Search to add music to playlist.

We've just pushed a new version of JRemote for Android that adds ChromeCast and ChromeCastAudio support. Please be aware that this is the initial version of ChromeCast support, so if you encounter any problems with it, please do report them. Those devices can be a bit finicky at times.
You can connect to a cast device on the navigation views from the action bar. The Playing Now screen unfortunately didn't cooperate and didn't get a cast icon yet, but I didn't want that to hold up the release, so it'll get one in the next version.

As always, it'll be a couple hours before the version is approved and available for all devices.

I was able to watch Lionel Richie - Live in Paris and Celine Dion Live in Vegas concerts back to back with no freezing or glitch. Video quality excellent on my Sony XBR75850C 4k TV.
I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

So how does "casting work" is it:
- JRemote sends a link to the content to the Chromecast that then pulls a stream directly from MC,
or
- JRemote acts a a bridge with the content being sent via the device running JRemote from MC to the Chromecast

I hope it is the first, and if so;
- What determines the Format, Bitrate, etc etc?
- What protocol does it use (eg if it DLNA based, how on earth does it support multi room audio sync)?

The cast device just gets a URL to the media file from JRemote, using the same quality settings as set in JRemote at the time (sans untouched, as that doesn't seem to work very well).

Note that only one track is currently sent to the Cast device, so JRemote needs to keep running to switch tracks at the end.

Google Cast uses its own protocol. It just accesses the media through MCWS (ie. HTTP).

The only glitch I can report (only using for Chromecast audio) is that if I start music on my phone and then choose to cast, I have to hit start again - the Chromecast seems not to pick up the already-in-progress music, as other services do.

Quick question: Is it possible to interrupt anything playing on "Connected Media" using JRemote? My wife always has Pandora on, using MC on our server. If I want to change what's playing, I have to interface with the server directly, I see no way of stopping it from JRemote.

I'm experiencing a half-second moment of silence immediately after a song starts (every song) using JRemote on Android through Chrome Audio. So, One second into each song, a pause, then resumption.

Anyone else?

The Chromecast Audio device uses WiFi to fetch the audio directly from your PC running Media Center. You could try to make sure the WiFi and the PC are strong enough, it sounds like it might be buffering.
