Licensing error

In trying to license ICETCP 5 on a single PC, we are getting registry error - cannot save pathname.  We have tried it many times and we can browse to the folder so we know it is correct. Any ideas??

Is this a new install? Version of Windows? Version of PRO? Did you install as an user with admin rights?

The software was installed a while ago but I believe the activation key was never entered. When trying to do that, we get the error about the path cannot be saved. It is on a Windows XP machine - it has the server and user portions. It is version 5.1

Run the licenseadmin program. Check to see if there is a valid license. Check to see that under the users tab that you  have 1 users of which 0 is allocated.

If not, reenter the company name in the folder tab and the license in the licenses tab. Then rerun configwizard.

Every time I run license admin, it is asking for the activation key and company name. Then when that is entered, it says the path cannot be saved.

Make sure the company name is put in EXACTLY as it was registered. Spaces, punctuation, etc.

Check the path to the licenses file. Should be something like:

C:\Program Files\J River\ICETCP5 Server\TCP5_User\Licenses\

Make sure that you are doing this a user with admin rights. If you have a domain controller and you were logged in under the domain admin you will need to be under the domain admin to do this.
