Bob,
I've got a customer who has installed 5.1.07 on a VISTA machine. The install appears to have run cleanly but on attempting to connect to the host he gets the following errors:
---------------------------
1- License Violation
Terminal Services are being run from this computer. A Thin CLient License is required fro Pro to run. Contact J. River, Inc.
2 - dejavu
Initialiszing copy protection failed (4, 536932384). Please run ConfigWizard.
3 - TelnetPro
Cannot create new session. Please run ConfigWizard.
---------------------------
My assumption is that this is a problem obtaining a license from the ICE server because he is using an (extremely) old version of ICE on Vista and that the Terminal Services part of the error is a red herring (as he does not run ICE through RDP and I have got him to disable terminal services on the machine). He has agreed to upgrade his licenses to 5.1.28 but wanted to confirm that it was not some form of PC configuration causing the Terminal Services warning.
I notice from a post "thin client license « Reply #1 on: February 08, 2005, 08:56:53 am »" an inference that the much older versions of ICE may have this error when Terminal Services is not the problem but that this is cured in later versions.
Can you confirm whether you think this is a red herring and that 5.1.28 would allow a connection to the host?
Many thanks
Brett
