My Canon DSLR stores images on Compact Flash cards and I use Breeze Systems Downloader Pro to transfer images from these CF cards to my 64-bit Windows 7 computer. The Autoplay facility of Windows 7 has been set up to automatically open Downloader Pro as soon as I insert a CF card into my computer. This all worked perfectly until I added JRiver Media Server to my Windows Startup list. Now Autoplay never works for my CF cards.

If I close JRiver Media Server then the Autoplay facility is immediately reactivated. How do I stop Media Server from messing with Autoplay?

Check MC's options for File Types.  You can disable anything you don't want MC to handle.

Hi Jim,
In MC's Options/File Types I already have all image file types set with no file association, so that's not the cause of my problem.

Can anyone offer some alternative suggestions for fixing this behaviour of Media Server?

Did you try setting the autoplay options again in Windows?

Did you try Redetect Handhelds?

I reset the Autoplay settings in Windows 7 just before stumbling across the fact that I could consistently turn my problem off and on by deactivating/reactivating JR Media Player.

Running 'Options/Handheld/Redetect all devices...' had no effect, probably because none of the handheld checkboxes on the right are ticked (I have never previously configured any form of handheld device).
