I'm running JRiver 21 via Windows.  I notice no matter how many settings I tweak (gapless playback between tracks, etc) there's always a tiny blip that separates seamless tracks.  I didn't have this problem in Itunes, or when running my music library through Spotify.  All of my music is on an SSD, so there's no network or streaming issues. 

I did a search and it turns out that there have been several instances of this issue in past versions of JRiver, but none of the responses turned up anything that resolved the issue for me.

I have avast on default settings

There's always a tiny blip of silence between tracks; however I noticed it in particular in a recording of Pictures at an Exhibition (many short tracks that ought to be seamless).  The identical files play without issue in ITunes.

Did you try disabling or temporarily uninstalling Avast as a test to see if that might be the source of the problem? If the problem disappears without Avast running, then you could try setting exclusion rules for Media Center as well as the folders containing your media files.

Uninstall to test.  Disabling often isn't enough.
