regularly losing usb dvb tuner
« on: November 01, 2015, 06:11:49 pm »

Hello,

i am using jriver with a geniatech usb dvbt2 tuner.

I am using windows 10 and the latest version of jriver 21.

At regular intervals, I seem to ''lose'' the tuner , and i get ''no signal'' showing.

A reboot always solves the problem,- it is almost like jriver loses communication with the tuner?

Anyone else have the same problem?

Thanks

Did you check to see if a newer driver is available?

Are you allowing Windows to turn off the USB hub to save power?

"In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click USB Root Hub, and then click Properties. In the USB Root Hub Properties dialog box, click the Power Management tab. The Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box is displayed."

I believe this check box is ticked by default. Find the hub you TV tuner is connected to, and uncheck the box. See if that helps.
