Playstation 2 streaming device
« on: September 05, 2003, 12:18:20 pm »

I was purusing ps2.ign.com (video game site) today and see an announcement of a product that's starting to ship from Madcatz called the Gameshark Media Player.

It sounds like a device similar to the Tivo HMO that allows you to pull media from your PC and view it on your TV (via a Playstation 2 w/network adapter).

Any chance a product like this could be supported by Media Center?  The beauty of it being 1) there are millions of PS2's out there in the world and 2) this device is only going to cost $50.

Here's the link on further info...

Thanks for the link.  I followed it to the press release on the madcatz site:

We would like to support devices like this.  We've done the Sony Media Receiver and expect to do more.

Jim,

Thanks for the quick response.  In my mind, assuming it's possible, to support a product like this opens you up to a huge potential customer base.  As I recall there are now over 20 million PS2's out there....
