Hi,
I've moved from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 with J River 21 installed. J River's message "different operation system" - checked interact. Downloaded J River again on that computer. Same problem. J River is not accessible anymore. Tried on another computer where J River is installed ( Windows 7.1 - J River works normally) but tried to access with J Remote (Samsung tab). Access key added. Just got a black screen with the message "J River is stopped - Report or ok" as choice. Relaunched again - same problem. What shpuld I do ? Thanks.

You probably need to reinstall MC.

JRemote access might require opening the firewall.

We prefer "JRiver" to "J River" since it works better with searches.  Thanks.

I've moved from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. JRiver dodin't start up anymore and got the message "JRIver was installed for another operating system. PLease reinstall". I've completely removed JRiver from this computer, restarted the computer and downloaded twice JRiver. But still I get the same message "JRiver was installed for a different operating system". What should I do ? Thanks for your help.

Did you install MC after downloading?

I have deleted the JRiver library files + run ccleaner. I've tried to reinstall MC again, but still get the message 'JRiver was installed for another operating system. Please reinstall MC".

I even re-installed Windows 10, but the problem persits.

Are you logging on as a "local user" or are you logging on with a "Microsoft Account" (where you use your e-mail address)?
My Win10 installation was a real pain because I installed with Microsoft Account then later switched to Local account (to get networking functional).

If all else fails, try creating a new User with admin privileges then log on as that User and try installing MC (just as test).

I used to log in with the microsoft account. I switched now to 'local' (which didn't work either). Will create a new account. Hopefully this will work. Thanks.

I just want to share with you my solution to make JRiver work on my Windows 10 laptop. I've rented an IT-prof. to get me out. After installing JRiver go to properties of JRiver (right click), go to compatibility : switch off Windows 8 comptability and switch it on again. And JRiver starts up normally. Unbelievable simple but so frustrating when JRiver didn't work.

that's cool I didn't have that issue from Win7 to Win 10 but that could help others. Thanks for sharing
