Yesterday my brother died about 2pm in the hospital, after a long battle of alcohol addiction. His kidneys and liver shut down and he went into a coma, and never woke up.

this is the first time I have lost a close family member.

I keep thinking about him and how he was when we were younger.

I told my shrink (mental health) this morning and we talked about it for the whole hour.

they say time heals all wounds.

this has hit me very hard.

I'm not sure if this helps. but we lost my uncle a few years ago to an accident.
When I think of him. It always brings a smile to my face.
So just keep those good days with you. They are what are important.

I'm sorry to hear it; it's always terrible to lose someone so close.  I've lost a few close family members, and it still hurts me sometimes years later; I just do my best to remember them as they were so that they stay alive in my heart and memory.  You'll be in my thoughts.

One Of My Dogs "Poncho" Died today, he has been with the vet for 3 days

about 5 days ago I found out "Padro" is blind

things are just falling apart here.

Every now and again I think of family members of mine who are now dead. Although it's sad that they're not still here to talk to and share where I've got to, it's uplifting to think of the wonderful things they did for me and the lessons they gave me. Truly blessed and very lucky.

So, when I think of them in that way, they're still alive to me.

Maybe some of that can work for you? I'm sure the pieces will come together for you, even if they have fallen apart to some extent recently.

I'm having a rough run of it myself. My paternal grandfather passed away last night, and now I just got word that my maternal grandmother passed away tonight.

Has not been a good month.

I am trying to out last my mom and dad that are in there mid 80's

mom has a touch of dementia, and dad has Alzheimer's (He don't know my little brother died) he has been told but he don't remember.

news today that my brothers girlfriend died today, a bit over a month after my brother, of kidney failure due to drinking.

they both were very heavy drinkers.
