Licensing question
« on: February 24, 2016, 12:30:48 pm »

I have a master multi-platform license for MC 21.  In the last year, I've been beset with some serious Windows software and hardware issues that have necessitated reinstallation of Windows itself on two machines several times.  I also had to install a new copy of MC 21 on a laptop that I purchased after buying my JRiver license.

This has not yet proven to be a problem, but I can see how it might if I continue to experience computer issues:  On the last two occasions I have reinstalled, I have added the license information by copying and pasting it from my registration email.  It takes and I get an email saying that I have x installs left.  Then, later, when I start MC21 again, I get the message that my evaluation copy is about to expire, so I have to paste in the license information again.  Then, I get another email telling me that I have x-1 installs left.  Thus, I believe the last two reinstallations have cost me two licensed installs apiece.

Maybe I missed something and this didn't happen as it seems to have, but, for now, that's my belief.  Is this a known issue at all?

You may have an older version installed and you're using it to install the license.

Considering that the last two MC 21 installations have occurred after restoring Windows without saving data, I am pretty sure that no other versions were on these computers when the double validations occurred.
