Different Operating System
« on: February 27, 2016, 09:13:46 am »

I cannot get to JRiver v. 19 anymore. It says 'Media Center was installed for a different operating system'. If I try to reinstall it, I get exactly the same error message. So I am moving in circles and appreciate anyone's help.

Windows 10 upgrade?

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling?

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

Matt

Greetings:

I had this problem with version 20 March of 2015.
I had changed my ISP from Frontier to TWC. My PC was down for over 4 weeks, and the new provider was not able to pass cables under ground because of prolonged bad weather.. (more than 10 ft of Snow) on the ground.
When I tried to run MC, I got same problem. I may have also changed the computer name during this time.
How I resolved it.. I had to find old MC 20 version maybe two or three versions released earlier, after the installation, then I used the help menu to do the upgrade  within MC itself again.
Of course a few weeks later, I upgraded to MC 21.
