I totally agree with the new look proposed in this web page:  http://www.futurehome.de/mc/split_view.htm.

It is really clean, very useful and have all the features that I've always whished MC had.  :D

While Knickelfartz does an amazing job at graphics and UI design, we can't consider anything this ambitious for 9.1.  Maybe for a future version.

For those who are looking for a visible Playing Now at the same time they are working in Media Center, please explore the options available on the new Action Window.

yeah.. and skinner can use it to make different size buttons, change in the mainframe look and change playerbar look..!;)

it does'nt have to be that much on the image.. but maybe a little that makes the rest of the images that makes up the player interface in MC be comforable..'

thanks :)

...individual boxes for searching and for criteria/view parameters have been merged again, leading to the age old problem of destroying your criteria when you want to search for something in a list (ie smartlists or view schemes). The perfect compromise would be having the top part of 226, with the body of 229 (hummanah hummanah hummanah).

I wrote this once at 229 thread, but this thread seems better place, so posting it again.  This is my old request.  I wanted to have repeat, random, and dsp button at left side.  It looks like MC9.1 is trying to modify apperance, so I'm trying to bump my request again.  ;)

How about this placement?  Original size is at http://www.io.com/~kazushi/mc/menu.png

Mmh, maybe it would be OK to place those buttons on the left side of the position slider, but on the right of the volume slider, below the player buttons? The volume slider would be very short  ;)

How about using a dot like this

  • to separate "Title" and "Artist" in Action Window lists?
I think the dot is not used in tags (never saw it there...), but brackets are quite often...
Maybe it would help to make those lists easier to read  ;)

I personally don't care about the length of volume bar, but I think your idea is better for everyone.  Moreover, it doesn't change length of any bars.  :)

Anyway, I wish if jriver guys think about the buttons placement.  There is no point to leave repeat/shuffle/DPS buttons at far right.

Thanks.

Knickelfartz? Man, you really are good at subtle insults!  ;D

Will artist name never appear in the top bar, or is it just something that has to be written into an XML script or something?

As for my theory on the big secret: M$ may have to include other players besides their own in future operating systems. Maybe this is one of them?  8)

the new playbar interface disable something in skinning which is getting the close,maximize..etc buttons down a little coz that will get the buttons over the playbar..

is there any chances to reduce the playbar a little or giving more space around the playerbar !?

thanks
