MC keeps waking up Win 7 PC from sleep
« on: September 02, 2016, 06:56:40 pm »

Hi guys,
Please help me to fix this small problem. The MC keeps waking up Windows 7 PC from sleep every day at about the same time.
I checked it with powercfg –lastwake and got this info:

C:\Users\Leo>powercfg -lastwake
Wake History Count - 1
Wake History (0)
  Wake Source Count - 1
  Wake Source (0)
    Type: Wake Timer
    Owner: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Program Files (x86)\JRiver\Media Center 22\Media Center 22.exe

I have Media Server running all the time for TV recordings, but the PC wakes up when no recording is scheduled.

I'm running MC 22.0.21. It is closed when the PC is in sleep mode and Automatic Updates are turned off.

Thanks.

Maybe it's getting the schedule.

I had this problem on my HTPC too. I never got to the bottom of it, so, as all that little ASRock does is run MC as a client to a server that's on 24/7, I took the sledgehammer to nut approach and tried the free Windows 10 upgrade, which did cure the problem, but I don't know how or why.

It was driving me nuts though. It would usually wake up within twenty minutes of being put to sleep.

Maybe it's getting the schedule.

Maybe, but it does not put PC to sleep after that. I have to do it manually. Is there any fix for that?

Can I set the schedule update to run only when the PC/MC is on?

I did not have this problem until recently and I did not change anything in MC settings. It started about two weeks ago after I updated MC.
